The position requires the individual to utilize these skills, as well as their teaching experience, so that they can effectively assist his/her department in understanding and implementing the district curriculum, the NYS Standards for Social Studies, IB assessments, AP assessments, and district Social Studies assessments. In addition, the person should be able to assist their department in moving the district’s initiatives forward. The program coordinator must demonstrate a commitment to ongoing involvement in staff development and other professional development opportunities, as well as support school and district improvement efforts.
