The Courier supports the efficient operation of the school district by safely transporting mail, packages, instructional materials, equipment, food, bank deposits, and other district assets between schools, administrative offices, and partner agencies. This role ensures timely, accurate delivery and pickup, while maintaining a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. The typical hours are between 7:00am - 4:30pm, Monday-Friday, 40hrs/week. Position includes generous benefits package, paid time off, and the opportunity to join the NYS Retirement System. Positive fingerprint clearance through the NYSED is required.
Collect, sort, and deliver interoffice mail, packages, printed materials, and supplies to district buildings on an established route and schedule.
Collect and mail letters and packages from local municipalities.
Transport instructional materials, testing materials, and confidential documents in accordance with district procedures.
Collect and take bank deposits to local bank branch.
Deliver food to district partnered parochial school.
Transport or pickup materials from out of district vendors as needed.
Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, and materials transported.
Operate district vehicles in a safe, responsible manner and follow all traffic laws and district policies.
Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and department personnel regarding deliveries and scheduling.
Support emergency or time-sensitive deliveries as needed.
Uphold confidentiality, especially when handling student records, testing materials, or sensitive district documents.
Other duties as assigned.
