Job Description

The Hilton Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for a probationary Teaching Assistant. 

Duties may include:

  • Monitoring student behavior and maintaining discipline;
  • Monitor the arrival and dismissal of students, assuring they are in the correct location;
  • Provide assistance to students to develop or improve skills in behavior and academics;
  • Maintain an organized area for students;
  • Share in performance of routine housekeeping, monitoring, and clerical tasks;
  •  Maintain appropriate records and reports;
  • Assume responsibilities assigned by building Administration
  • Abide by a professional code of ethics

Job Qualifications
  • NYS Teacher Certification or NYS Teaching Assistant Certification is required
  • Experience with middle school students who receive special education support sevices is preferred
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred
  • Experience working with students with various needs and levels of support is preferred
  • Experience working with students with learning/behavioral needs is preferred
