Job Description

The Hilton Central School District is accepting applications for a Youth Assistant at Village Elementary School. This is a 10-month position and hours will be discussed at interview.  The individual should have at least two (2) years experience working in an educational setting, preferably with security experience. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Answers to the Building Principal as it relates to needs and services within the assigned building.
• Provides information and assistance to authorized visitors in the assigned building.
• Confirms visitor’s appointments and provides directions relating to said appointments.
• Registers all authorized visitors and issues visitor passes.
• Deters non-authorized people from entering the school building and/or campus.
• Reports infractions of the District Code of Conduct as it relates to the visitor policy to the building Principal and the Director of Safety & Security.
• Provides assistance to building staff as directed by the building Principal or the Director of Safety & Security.
• Monitors the building security system as it relates to ensuring the safe usage of the building for the people within.
• Is a role model for students and staff.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Director of Safety & Security.

• Handle confidential matters with appropriate discretion.
