Job Description

Internal Posting Only- Open to current Hilton Central School District teachers

(.4 release, position is a 3 year term)

The job of program coordinator requires a person with good communication, group facilitation, and organizational skills. Program coordinators need to be proactive and flexible in a variety of situations. The position requires the individual to utilize these skills, as well as their teaching experience, so that they can effectively assist his/her department in understanding and implementing the district curriculum, the NYS Standards for Social Studies, IB assessments, AP assessments, and district Social Studies assessments. In addition, the person should be able to assist their department in moving the district’s initiatives forward. The program coordinator must demonstrate a commitment to ongoing involvement in staff development and other professional development opportunities, as well as support school and district improvement efforts.

Job Qualifications

 

Requirements:

  • The Social Studies Program Coordinator should hold a Social Studies certification, be a tenured teacher, and have a minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in K-12 Social Studies. A variety of professional teaching experience is preferred.
